Girls learning, leading, succeeding

Admission

A leader in all-girls education since 1881, Dana Hall School has always been dedicated to providing the vigorous education that every girl deserves--one that’s academically ambitious, rich with opportunity, and fiercely empowering.

Dana Hall is an independent school for bright and bold young women in grades 5-12. We are the only girls’ boarding school in the Boston area. Our Middle School serves day students in grades 5-8, and our Upper School serves boarding and day students in grades 9-12. Two divisions, one community that’s welcoming, open-hearted, and diverse.

The Admission Office is seeking promising students who will tackle challenging coursework, dive fully and bravely into every endeavor, and who will uphold our culture of inclusion and kindness.

Ordinarily we would encourage you to visit campus, as seeing a school day in action is the best way to experience Dana Hall. However, as everyone across the globe adapts to the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic, we must prioritize visitors' and our employees' health and safety. While our campus is currently closed to visitors, the Admission Office remains open and available with our staff working remotely. We can't wait to welcome you to campus in person. Until then, please call us, email us, schedule a Zoom with us, and take advantage of the many ways you can visit virtually and connect with us from afar.

"In my Literature and Composition II class, we were given the assignment of writing an editorial about anything of interest. I decided to base my editorial on the status of gender equality in Thailand. As an international student from Thailand, this topic sparked a particular interest for me. Through this assignment, I have realized my passion for women empowerment, not only in the United States but through an international perspective, too."
